Requirements for Sketchbook HW due THURSDAY 4/4/19 or FRIDAY 4/5/19:

You will write a paragraph (4-6 full sentences) describing your overall concept (concentration).
You are to include:

  • Concept (ex: "I want to explore the concept of sleep and rest in someone's life." or "I want to do a concentration based on people swimming underwater." or "My concentration will be based on my love of cycling."

  • WHY you chose it/ your inspiration (ex: "I have always been interested in the concept of fear, and how it can be equally bad and good in one's life." or "I am inspired by the contour work of several professional artists that I have researched online, and want to explore how contour line drawing can express a lot in very little detail.")

  • Methods/skills/media (art materials) being used. (ex: "I plan on using mixed media, mixing acrylic and images from photographs." or "I plan on exploring scratch board as my medium, where I can focus on using lines for values and detailing.")

  • Discuss size of work planned (does not have to be specific. ex: "I plan to develop pieces that grow in size from about 8x10" to 3'x5'")... ALL WORK NEEDS TO BE 8"x8" OR LARGER!
